What Ingredients Make Wrinkles Disappear?

The most annoying thing about trying to get rid of wrinkles is that you never know if what you’re doing is actually working.

Long-term results don’t come from quick fixes, and slathering on cream every day is hard to keep doing when you have to wait months to see a change. It’s tempting to jump from product to product (and we’re all guilty of it – most of all me), but how do you know if something works if you don’t give it a chance?

So, tired of spending money on products that end up in the back of my cabinet, I decided to do some research. Science doesn’t lie, and so I set out to find which ingredients actually make a difference.

Here’s what I found.

What Ingredients Make Wrinkles Disappear?

Collagen Boosters

Collagen is what makes your skin plump and young, and it starts to disappear as you get older. That sagginess you’ve noticed? That’s caused by diminishing collagen. Ingredients that boost collagen, like Trylagen® PCB, naturally encourage and support the build up of collagen and ultimately smooth, wrinkle-free skin.

Ubiquinone and vitamin E

These two ingredients work together to moisturize skin. Moisturized skin = plumper skin = immediately less visible wrinkles. With moisturizing agents like these, you’ll see immediate results as your skin absorbs moisture. These two ingredients come with the added benefit of allowing skin to heal quickly and to fight off sun damage and pollution throughout the day.

Retinol

Retinol is one of the most famous and widely used ingredients to stop wrinkles. Retinol works by increasing your skin cells turnover, which means your skin can regenerate itself even faster than normal. Dark spots are sloughed away and wrinkles are rejuvenated. Retinol doesn’t result in a quick fix, but results in real changes over time.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8

Often called by its trademarked name Argireline®, this skin care ingredient is dubbed a natural, no needle botox because of its ability to freeze surface muscles. When your skin loses its ability to crease, it can’t make wrinkles. Argireline® is an ingredient that seems slightly miraculous–it makes a difference in just two weeks.

Vitamin C

When applied to the skin, Vitamin C protects you from sun damage–one of the leading causes of wrinkles. By using Vitamin C in conjunction with other wrinkle fighting ingredients you’ll stop future wrinkles from surprising you one morning. Vitamin C is also an important ingredient in the production of collagen, which tightens up your skin!

A word of advice -- don’t neglect your chest! A young face will be quickly undermined by an aging chest. Don’t have a face that looks 30 when you’re chest looks 50. A famous dermatologist once said “Your face starts at your nipples,” and the french are notorious for passing down beauty tips about caring for the decolletage (a french derived word!). So don’t skimp on product for that delicate skin.
